Event Full! Contact Elisabeth if you have any questions.

Big Boulder Hike: Explore a beautiful and little-known corner of Stowe with Family +Friends Committee members Mila and Meg. This hike will take you to a house-sized boulder along the boundary line between Crawford Forest and Mt. Mansfield State Forest. This hike will be moderately strenuous, with challenging and uneven footing. The hike will start on the Wall Trail but will quickly veer off into the forest off trail across terrain that at times is steep, wet, and/or uneven to walk on. Please wear sturdy hiking shoes that are waterproof or that you don't mind getting wet.

When: Saturday, July 17th from 9 – 11 AM

Where: Crawford Forest between Stowe and Waterbury

Directions: The property is located off Barnes Hill Road in Moscow. From the intersection of Route 100 and 108 in Stowe Village, head south on 100 for 2.4 miles. Turn right on Moscow Road and head toward Moscow Village. Take a left on Barnes Hill Road just after the Pizza Joint and before the village. Go to the end of Barnes Hill Road and look for a small pull out area on the left side of the road. This pull out is just before Barnes HIll Road turns into a driveway to access the last house on the street.
