Celebrate community and conservation with Stowe Land Trust on Sunday, September 22nd from 2:00 - 5:00 pm. The event is taking place under a big tent in a field located off Tamarack Road in Stowe with views of the recently conserved Brownsville-Story Ridge Forest.
The Land Trust’s annual business meeting will begin at 2:00 PM. All are welcome to attend while Stowe Land Trust members vote on a slate of board candidates, honor volunteers, and share a brief financial presentation. Dr. Aron Steward, a psychologist with expertise in violenceprevention, is our guest speaker and will present Discovering the Therapeutic Power of Birds and Other Stories About How We All Need Nature to Thrive Therapeutic Power of Birds and Other Stories About How We All Need Nature to Thrive. Dr. Steward served as the Assistant Clinical Director at Woodside Juvenile Rehabilitation Center in Colchester, VT where she cultivated the use of alternative therapies to help youth - including some very simple actions with striking outcomes.
Following the business meeting, mingle with friends and neighbors while enjoying live
music by the Sugardaddies, Woodbelly pizza and a cash bar, and homemade pies
with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The field will feature lots of fun, family-friendly activities from our partners including hayrides with Ryan Percy; kids games and activities with SLT’s Summer Naturalist; frisbees & lawn games; a flag painting station; free family portraits by local photographer Sarah Salvas with the beautiful Worcester Range in the background.
This event is free and open to the public. There will be children's programs (ages 5+)
