Don't miss this special opportunity to visit the Ricketson Bog! Join SLT staff as we snowshoe to the bog, a rare habitat on the north side of the Ricketson Farm property that is part of a regionally-important wetland complex (including Molly and Valcour Bogs). On our journey we will take in sweeping views from the valley floor before working our way through quiet forests on our way to the bog. Come and see a new side of the familiar farm, and learn about why we are so excited to protect it!
Thanks to our partners at Umiak Outdoor Outfitters, we will have a limited number of snowshoes available to borrow for those who don't have their own! Please indicate how many pairs you need on your registration form.
Location: Ricketon Farm. Parking location and route TBD, based on snow conditions. Total roundtrip distance will be <2 miles. Advance registration is required, sign up below to recieve details later in the month.
Date and Time: Sunday, January 30, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Participants should dress in warm layers, appropriate for the weath. Please bring snowshoes (poles are optional but recommended). You can also feel free to bring snacks, water, and extra clothing. Please leave pets at home.
