This week, I visited Stowe Elementary School’s 1st grade class and we did a lesson on nature journaling and animal adaptations! After completing our nature journal activity, we ventured out to the wetland behind the Stowe Parks and Recreation building & at the school’s green space to look at wildlife habitats, build bird nests, and draw some nature observations.
All of the students in 1st grade are talented artists, and already knew a lot of information about habitats and birds! Here are some pictures of their observations and bird nests.
Thank you to the 1st graders and their wonderful teachers for letting me visit their classrooms!
