Saturday Naturalist Programs at the Mill Trail Cabin

The Summer Naturalist program is back! Its fourth season will be kicking off, every Saturday from June 18th through August 13th. Cabin is open to the public from 10am-2pm. Naturalist-led walks at 10:30 am.Join Naturalist Brenna Toman on a journey to discover the rich ecosystems and surprising natural and cultural history of the Mill Trail.  

Free, outdoor fun for the whole family. All ages welcome!

Drop by and check out family-friendly activities, explorations, games, art and crafts that develop a new sense of wonder and understanding for the world around us. Learn about the unique history of the cabin and Mill Trail from sheep farming to logging and milling to the early-days of ski tourism.

All programs begin at 10:30 AM. Program Schedule:

July 23rd: Naturalist Workshop-Learn how to observe the environment through a naturalist's eyes. Make a Nature Journal and find a sit spot to connect deeper to nature. 

July 30th: Buzz about Bugs- Go on a forest floor explore to find critters of all shapes and sizes. Crafts, games, free play, and exploration!

August 6th: Wildflower World- See the world through a pollinator's eyes! Learn about the interaction between bugs, butterflies, bees, and plants. Make wildflower seed balls and learn how to do a bee dance. 

August 13th: Forts and Fires-Build a water resistant fort from natural materials and make a fire without using matches. Marshmallows included!

 

Directions: Drive 5 miles up the Mountain Road from Stowe Village. Turn right on Notchbrook Rd. Trailhead is 1/2 mile up on the left. Park along the road. Cabin is a short walk down the main trail on the right.
