Amphibian Road Crossing Volunteer Training

The spring thaw brings fresh water to Vermont's vernal pools, and the emergence of numerous amphibian species from their long winter dormancy. As they become more active, spring peepers, spotted salamanders, eastern newts, and more venture through the forests and across roads, where they often fall victim to passing cars. Each year, the North Branch Nature Center organizes volunteers and citizen scientists to monitor high (amphibian) traffic roads, and help these creatures on their way.

On Tuesday, March 22nd Stowe Land Trust will meet virtually to review training materials and familiarize ourselves with NBNC's data collection practices, in preparation for a night of volunteer service later in the spring. Join us and learn more about these iconic harbingers of spring!

The event is free and open to the public. To help us prepare, advance registration is requested

When: Tuesday, March 22, 6:00 pm.
